Just not enough time in the day...
I know, I know - it's been two months since last time I posted. Between taking 18 college credits this semester, working around 12 hours a week, leading a small group for Junior High Youth Group, writing skits etc. for the Drama Ministry, and the other random stuff I do, blogging has been pushed further and further down the list of priorities. Not my first choice, because I really miss having an excuse to write. None of my classes this semester require any writing, and I haven't had time to do too much more than what I have to.
So, what have I written lately that I could post...? The longest (and most interesting thing) I've written lately was the essay I wrote for the SAT on Saturday, but I'm not even allowed to disclose what the topic was until the scores come out in a few weeks. I almost had to write an essay in French today on the topic "Pourquoi je deteste notre gouvernement et pourquoi j'aime le gouvernement francais" ("Why I hate our government and why I love the French government," if you couldn't figure it out). 'Unfortunately,' she changed the topic to "Trois activities je vais faire ce week-end" ("Three things I'm going to do this weekend") at the last minute. Let's see...what else? I have a 6-minute presentation on how to make pizza that I'm giving in Speech tomorrow morning. I could post my copious Chemistry notes. I gave a brief testimonial about Family Formation at a workshop on Saturday, but I doubt anyone except my mom would really find it interesting, and she already heard it.
Actually, I am working on a talk entitled "When I Was Your Age" (their title, not mine) that I'll be giving to a bunch of 10-13 year old girls and their moms in a few weeks. I'm focusing on the importance of modest dress, and I'm hoping to have a Powerpoint presentation showing a bunch of modest (but still cute) outfits I've found. I have a start as far as the photos go (Jen, a couple friends and I found a bunch of good stuff at the Gap last week); I just have to get some more and compile them. When I get that talk done, I'll put it up here.
In the meantime, the most interesting thing I've been doing lately has been the stuff I'm putting together for my Photoshop class. I'll put some of those files up in coming days (when I find time to find/make .jpg files to post).
